Hello.
In an attempt to fix my speedo, i have removed one end from the transmission underneath.
Twisting the cog on speedo cable moves the speedo dial in the cab.
In the housing i cannot see anything to drive the speedo cable cog.
Any advice for moving forward would be great
Thanks.

For Vauxhall transmission -

Image

1: driving gear on mainshaft.

2: driven gear thrust pad (steel).

If the inner cable end has rounded corners in one spot then check for the cable slipping in the driven gear stem at this spot.

Thanks for the speedy reply. !

From feeling around the driving gear on main shaft is non existent.

Does this mean i will have to pull apart the transmission to replace the gear??

Yes, transmission has to come apart to remove the mainshaft assembly from the alloy extension housing.
