Hello. I’m thinking of buying my first classic, a CF2 1986 drop side.
Wondering if the 2.0l cih engine uses unleaded? As I can’t find the info anywhere. If it doesn’t is it expensive to change the valve seats?
Also how available are parts? I’m a decorator and would be using it as my daily driver, so need it to be reliable.... an I barking up the wrong tree looking at one of these beauty’s or can you still get oem parts off the shelf?
Thanks!
Re: General info
Hi and welcome to the club.
The Opel CIH engine is fine on unleaded petrol without modification and the CF2 is very reliable once any inherited problems are sorted.
Parts are available still but some are more scarce than others so can come expensive. For help in finding spares ask at the Parts Department Front counter.
