If I grab the end of that lever that protrudes downwards and wobble it left/right relative to the van there is a miniscule perceivable movement. Less than a mm side to side the end at the of the lever. No movement in any other dimention, including along or around the shaft.

I walked to a local halfords and got a bottle of oil and a tube of gasket silicone. I think I'm going to pop it back together so I can drive home and order some 3/16 pins off the internet in preparation...

Just a thought - if I'm going buy some imperial roll pins and pin punches, is there any other sizes I'd appreciate having rolling around in the bottom of my toolbox in some future lay-by?

I drove a few miles last night and this morning and it didn't get stuck again :thumb:

1/8-inch roll pin for the ignition distributor drive gear, plus 3mm for when the gear and shaft have to be drilled over-size due to wear.
