Another problem I ran into was the flywheel bolts. Different lengths and threads...

I ran into the problem of the oil return pipe going into the pan...I found an easy cure....I went to a marine supply store and bought a brass overboard discharge fitting....it uses a gasket and bolts together...so all I did was drill a hole in the pan...put the discharge fitting inside with the barb end on the outside put the nut on the fitting and it was done...no leaks at all...really strong and even looks professional..I impressed myself.. now if I can build an exhaust for the turbo I will install it on the 2.3 and be GONE !

To get the cooling oil I had thought of picking it up at the fitting for the oil sending unit...but decided to just put a adaptor plate for a remote oil filter ....one that was designed to go to an oil cooler...it goes between the block and the oil filter....there is plenty of oil at that point and it is a great place to draw the oil from...plenty of volume too.

I am not sure what to expect from adding the turbo...the 2.3 runs really well now...plenty of power for what I am using it for...it was more just the challenge of putting a turbo on ... the turbo and manifolds came from a Bedford 2.3 of about the same vintage..

Might anyone tell me what to expect going from a normally aspirated 2.3 to a Turbo 2.3...everything is 1978 so no electronics... more torque ? power ? speed ? economy ? noise ?

Wow...With that much improvement I might need to upgrade my rear end ratio...I have a 4.11 in now and the original Roadster had a 3.78...I could really fly.. although anything above 65mph ...air gets under the fenders and the wind can cause you to change lanes...(not so kool)
