I bought this Camper on Trade me, the Kiwi version of Ebay. The first thing that stood out to me was the number plate, I remembered it from my Post office Telecoms days and I used to drive it in the mid 80's, and probably 10 others too. I had the last CF230 in the fleet before the change to Hiace's, and the last CF350 before they changed to Daihatsu's.
It had been a cable truck like this:
Yes that was a real work site in the 1980's, before the need for 100 road cones!
We have had Dual Wheelers before, this is my dad's from the late 80's
I bought it running on 2 cylinders, hence the reason to come home behind my Defender
It was professionally converted to a camper here in Christchurch by Crestacraft (they build caravans and boats) in 1986 when it came out of service with the Post Office. Some inside pic's
Lot's of head room with the roof up
My intentions for it are to give it a tidy up and repower it with a Holden 3.8l V6 and auto transmission, I have purchased a parts car for this reason.

So (hopefully) I will end up with a nice Fuel Injected V6 automatic Camper. And so it begins.............................
