Don't bother with LED bulbs, unless forking out for properly designed ones. I've tried a few and although they chuck out loads of light it's not focussed properly so visibility is usually worse!

For oncoming drivers possible more so.

Alteration of the beam pattern could be a fail at MoT test too.
