I get it...push the clip bit down & the cable should part from the dial. Mine doesn't. Am I missing something? The flanges cable is partly separated from the dial, but I don't want to force it. Any suggestions?

If the speedometer was working then the cable will come away from the speedometer head; sometimes it needs a wobble though, or the speedometer head may need to be pushed back onto the cable a time or two before the cable will let go.

I'll keep trying. The Speedo does work...if you want to do 30 or 60! It stutters a bit! It tends to get stuck at 30, then springs into life above 60. When I play with the cable the needle drops to 0...strange. has a life of its own. I want to remove the clock to see if it needs cleaning or lubricating
