Track Rod End Boots

My track rod end boots have perished. There seems to be various generic replacements available, sold based on their various dimensions.

Does anyone know the correct boot dimensions for a CF?

Are there any gotchas in fitting generic boots to the track rod ends?

Obliged as ever,

I think there's just 3 sizes available, one obviously too large and one obviously too small.

The boot has to stretch some over the rim of the ball socket and also the ball pin taper to seal properly, then secured at least on the ball socket rim - use the original garter spring if still in serviceable condition, soft iron wire (double turn before ends twisted together), or a suitable thin cable tie.

Boot can be fitted without detaching the track rod end from track rod to avoid having to check the toe-in afterwards.

Grease what you can of the ball joint before fitting the boot; excess grease can be wiped off after the boot is fitted.
