I had the front springs and shocks replaced not too long ago after getting the van as the previous owner had lowered the springs. When I had this done the N/s shock had come apart and was an earlier CF variant.I've now found the bottom fixing bracket has broken detaching the shock. Aside from needing to find a replacement part is there something likely to be causing unnecessary stress? or is it more likely just down to the age of the part?

Front shock absorber lower mounting is a weak point even on CF2 models with eye bottom fixing instead of pin fixing.

Usual remedy for broken or detached mounting plates is welded repair.

If the shock absorber eye has broken off then it may be a faulty or incorrect unit.
