KYS 542Y apparently belonged to Stirling Moss at one time.

There is one that has appeared on eBay a number of times recently (i.e. it probably needs lots of work to make it roadworthy) so it might come up again unless it has been scrapped.

Here was the one on Ebay a couple of times.
A Stratus High Top
They were 4 versions and all named after types of clouds.

Maybe worth contacting seller, only 2 photos though

Coolest CF's out there and best colour schemes I think ( RETRO ) ;)

But best front seats of any CF if original.

Looks pretty original from outside, maybe same inside?

Hi all.
The picture of the blue and white one in the first image of the post was taken by me, and is currently (fanatically) owned by my wife and I.

We bought it from my brother who had been using it but he let us buy it as he stopped using it as much and he didn't want it to lie in ruin.

I grew up on holidays in bedford cf's and now we are carrying on that legacy by going away regularly in our cavalier coachman stratus whenever we can.

I have not seen another cavalier coachman on the road in real life and in all honestly I wouldn't part with it for any money.

I'm pleased to see that other members are as keen on this model as me, and I can say that ours can be seen at many of the forum meets that subscribing members attend!

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,
You are very lucky indeed to own such a COOL and unique camper.

Far more (camper cool) than a common VW bus

To me these in same condition as the VW should fetch same price tags.

Any chance you could take some photos of the Stratus features in and out that our coach builds don't have.
Are there Decals on the sides or painted stripes?
Did your one not come with alloy wheels?

Found some info on Web about these written by someone called ADRIAN.

[ My Dad was the MD of Cavalier Coachman and he introduced these Bedford conversions to the company.
At that time we had Prototypes of the 250 and 280 models at our home regularly and even went on holiday with it.
All components were shipped over from California to the factory in Felixstowe !
Further modifications were done to the rear to accommodate the shower sump.
Wolfrace wheels and Grabber tyres were a standard feature ]

I would like to think if someone was lucky to find a rotten one it might be worthwhile getting a donor van to transfer every part across ;) and to keep the very few left alive.

Cheers
Tor
